As soon as you receive your SE 800 Commercial Air Cleaner, you should always check the box for damage before accepting delivery.  This is true for anything delivered to you.  It doesn’t happen often, but occaisionally the shipping company can damage things.  We usually use USF Holland or Con-Way Freight for our SE 800 Air Cleaners.  Our Commercial Smoke Eaters leave the factory brand new and in perfect condition.  If the box looks damaged or if you suspect the unit inside is damaged, do not accept delivery.  Call the shipping company immediately to submit a damage claim.  If the shipping company damaged the product, they will pay to fix or replace it.

Next thing before installing is to do what every instruction manual says to do… and it really is important.  Check the contents of the box.  The sheet of corrugated cardboard on top is more than packaging - the underside provides a template for surface mounting.  Also find the instruction manual and trim kit.  The trim kit has long plastic extrusions as well as small corner pieces and a small bag of hardware.

Here’s another tip.  We also found it to be easier to take down all the nearby ceiling panels.  Check for ducts and conduits above your mounting locations.  It’s easiest to instal the a Trion SE 400 or SE 800 where the space is clear of obstacles.
