You can’t clean the air if you don’t move the air.  Both of these units feature Coanda effect airflow pattern.  Many commercial air cleaners on the market are cheaply made air purifiers that use only media filters and don’t have enough CFM (cubic feet per minute - this is a measurement of the velocity at which air flows into or out of a space) to effectively remove smoke and odor from your environment.  The robust SE400 and SE800 provide up to 400 and 800 CFM respectively.  Not only do these innovative air cleaners remove smoke and odor, they also remove harmful airborne contaminants such as bacteria, pollen, viruses and mold spores.

Here is what happens when dirty air is drawn into the SE400 and SE800’s 4 stage filtration system:

1. Pre-Filter Filtration - Large airborne particles are removed by a tightly woven aluminum pre-filter.
    
2. Ionizing Wire Filtration - This process involves using wires that have a high-voltage current pass through them to create an electrical field that charges the incoming particles.
    
3. Collection Cell Filtration - The charged particles are drawn between a series of oppositely charged collector plates. These act like a magnet, causing the charged particles to attach to the collector plates.
    
4. Odor Neutralizing Cartridge Filtration - This final stage utilizes a smartly designed odor neutralizing cartridge that releases a field of aromatic molecules that combine with the odor molecules and break them apart.

As soon as you receive your SE 800 Commercial Air Cleaner, you should always check the box for damage before accepting delivery.  This is true for anything delivered to you.  It doesn’t happen often, but occaisionally the shipping company can damage things.  We usually use USF Holland or Con-Way Freight for our SE 800 Air Cleaners.  Our Commercial Smoke Eaters leave the factory brand new and in perfect condition.  If the box looks damaged or if you suspect the unit inside is damaged, do not accept delivery.  Call the shipping company immediately to submit a damage claim.  If the shipping company damaged the product, they will pay to fix or replace it.

Next thing before installing is to do what every instruction manual says to do… and it really is important.  Check the contents of the box.  The sheet of corrugated cardboard on top is more than packaging - the underside provides a template for surface mounting.  Also find the instruction manual and trim kit.  The trim kit has long plastic extrusions as well as small corner pieces and a small bag of hardware.

Here’s another tip.  We also found it to be easier to take down all the nearby ceiling panels.  Check for ducts and conduits above your mounting locations.  It’s easiest to instal the a Trion SE 400 or SE 800 where the space is clear of obstacles.
